What Is EDDA Training?

Expanded Duties Dental Assisting (EDDA) allows dental assistants to perform more advanced clinical procedures under the supervision of a dentist. This training gives assistants the opportunity to increase their responsibilities, expand their skill set, and become more valuable members of a dental team.

At the Georgia School of Dental Assisting, EDDA training is delivered through hands-on clinical instruction at our Woodstock campus.

How EDDA Training Works at GSDA

Students complete required online coursework before attending in-person EDDA training in Woodstock. This ensures students arrive prepared to focus on hands-on clinical skills rather than theory alone.

During the clinical portion, students receive training in procedures commonly performed by expanded duties dental assistants, including restorative and chairside techniques, in a supervised clinical environment.

Stand-Alone or Part of the Bootcamp

EDDA training at GSDA can be taken as a stand-alone program or as part of the Clinical Dental Assisting Bootcamp.

This gives students flexibility based on their current experience level and career goals.
